KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) — Move Robotic Sdn Bhd, a robotics development company, aims to become a major player in the autonomous robot industry and penetrate the international market by 2027.
Chief executive ocer Mohd Hazli Rasul said that goal could be achieved with its role as a supplier of autonomous robot technology.
“Each fabrication for the process of producing a robot is unique, it also affects the design and function of the robot itself.
“So, the customization process is very necessary in the robotics industry and it simultaneously gives an opportunity to Move Robotic,” he told Bernama.
He said the demand for autonomous robot technology is growing rapidly but existing industry players were limited in their respective specialisations “So, Move Robotic will complete the robot industry ecosystem and become a supplier to them,” he said.
He said the size of local market for robotics technology is very large as many manufacturing factories have started to show interest and are ready to invest in the technology to increase their productivity.
Mohd Hazli said he is condent that the technology would expand and be able to play a role in helping manufacturing companies, warehouses or service companies improve the eciency of their day-to-day operation.
“To prevent us from falling far behind foreign countries, Malaysia needs to produce its own robotics products starting from now,” he said.
Therefore, he said the development of local talent in the eld of autonomous robot technology is very important for the country to remain competitive with other countries even though Malaysia is proven to have many local talents that are on par with international peers.
Meanwhile, Mohd Hazli said autonomous robots developed by Move Robotics are equipped with articial intelligence (AI) technology, where the robot has the ability to move by itself in the environment that has been prepared, and the ability to avoid all obstacles along the path to the designated destination.
He said Move Robotics has also collaborated with the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) to promote the robotics products that have been developed to the right target market.
“MTDC has also helped us in verifying the technology developed on par with foreign technology so that users are more comfortable and condent to use this local technology,” he added.
