KBS And MTDC Team Up To Empower TVET Students For Industry 4.0

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Serdang today aimed at advancing the nation’s youth into Industry 4.0 and technopreneurship.
This MoU is another collaboration between KBS and MTDC—previously both signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the Transformation Of Technical, Vocational Education (TVET) Programmes, in March.
Under the new partnership, MTDC will be supporting KBS with advisory services and support, as well as the implementation of the teaching factory in educational deliveries to university students under TVET programmes.
Here are some of the advisory services and support that will be provided:
- accreditation
- competency development
- knowledge transfer
- equipment upgrading
- capacity-building programs
- promoting education and professional training in technology-related fields
According to MTDC, this marks a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to foster youth development and drive technological innovation.
MTDC will also play a crucial role in upgrading facilities and teaching equipment in the Teaching Factory to provide a more conducive learning environment for students.
By working hand-in hand with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Institusi Latihan Kemahiran Belia dan Sukan (ILKBS), it gives us an opportunity to create a vibrant ecosystem that empowers the youth and accelerates technological advancements in Malaysia. We aspire to create a pool of competent TVET talents for high-paying jobs in deep tech and the i4.0 industry.

Mohammad Hazani also highlighted the significance of the partnership in promoting networking opportunities between MTDC and its ecosystem companies with ILKBS.
